Acting on climate change

Climate change represents a global challenge

Fashion is one of the world's most polluting industries due to its significant greenhouse gas emissions. In this context, the OTB Group has defined a Climate Plan and strategic activities aimed at reducing its impact and contribute to fight climate change

Our initiatives to fight climate change

Climate change has become a priority both for governments and companies, which are now working to tackle the related causes and effects.

For this reason, the OTB Group has defined a Climate Strategy aimed at reducing greenhouse gas emissions to zero and contributing to limit the rise in temperature to 1.5°C above pre-industrial levels by 2050.

Our objectives with the Science Based Target Initiative

As we committed to fight climate change, we have responded to the call to action of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), sending a commitment letter in 2021 to define targets in line with the “1.5°C scenario”. In 2023, our reduction targets have been validated.

Baseline year

Increase annual sourcing of renewable electricity from 0% in 2019 to 80% by 2025

Reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions 51% by 2030 from a 2019 base year

Reduce Scope 3 GHG emissions from purchased goods and services and upstream and downstream transportation and distribution 55% per ton of raw material purchased by 2030 from a 2019 base year

Status 2023

Electricity from renewable sources

Reduction in direct emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2 market-based) compared to 2019

Scope 3 GHG emissions intensity from purchased goods and services and upstream and downstream transportation and distribution compared to 2019

Water Stewardship and Chemical Management

The textile and tanning industries have a significant impact on the environment. In addition to the high consumption of water, these sectors are considered among the key ones responsible for water pollution worldwide
