In 2024, OTB has acquired a majority stake in the company, as part of the Group's long-term strategy to bring high-profile know-how and manufacturing capacity in-house. Calzaturificio Stephen collaborates with some of the most important brands on the international scene.
Advanced technologies and manual dexterity of the highest order are the essence of Calzaturificio Stephen: from the crafting of the uppers, with fine stitching, to assembly, and the finishing department, where the leather is worked to bring the footwear to life, the accessories are applied, and every detail is meticulously checked. The secret to the quality of Stephen footwear lies in the hands of its master artisans, who, with their know-how and continuous research, create innovative products of outstanding quality, an expression of Made in Italy luxury.
Calzaturificio Stephen's modelling team advises the art direction of the brands it collaborates with on product industrialization: the initial mass production stages utilize all available technologies, including CAD, 3D printing, and 3D scanning, which, combined with the manual skills of expert modellers, turn a creative idea into reality.
Sustainability is at the heart of Calzaturificio Stephen's development, both in the careful selection and use of raw materials and in its internal processes. In line with this view, the facility is managed with an innovative home automation system that delivers significant energy savings, thanks to the solar panels installed on the factory roof.
Founded in 1967 by Francesco Bertollo to produce high-quality women's footwear, Calzaturificio Stephen has evolved over the years, always making the artisanal quality of its products its priority. In the 1990s, Cav. Bertollo’s children—Antonella, Stefano, and Valeria—joined the company, and starting in 2000, collaboration agreements were signed with major international brands. A historic supplier for OTB in the creation of some of the most iconic footwear for its luxury brands, Calzaturificio Stephen is now part of the Group through its subsidiary, Staff International.
