Reducing climate impact

Climate change represents a global challenge

Fashion is one of the world's most polluting industries due to its significant greenhouse gas emissions. In this context, the OTB Group has defined a Climate Plan and strategic activities aimed at reducing its impact and contribute to fight climate change

Our initiatives to fight climate change

Climate change has become a priority both for governments and companies, which are now working to tackle the related causes and effects.

For this reason, OTB Group has drawn a Climate Plan setting specific targets to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to zero by 2050 and is working on its own decarbonisation strategy.

Our objectives with the Science Based Target Initiative

As we committed to fight climate change, we have responded to the call to action of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), sending a commitment letter in 2021 to define targets in line with the “1.5°C scenario”. In 2023, our reduction targets have been validated.

Baseline

An increase in annual renewable electric energy sourcing from 0% in 2019 to 80%

A reduction of 51% in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030 compared to the 2019 baseline

A reduction of 55% in Scope 3 GHG emission intensity from purchased goods and services and upstream/downstream transportation and distribution per tonne of purchased raw materials by 2030 compared to the 2019 baseline

Status 2023

Electricity from renewable sources in internal operations, global perimeter

Reduction in direct emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2 Market-Based) compared to 2019

Reduction in Scope 1, Scope 2 Market-Based and Scope 3 emissions compared to 2023

Responsible Management of Resources and Waste

We are acting to reduce the generation of waste, from both packaging and processed textile fibres, and to promote a cultural change inside and outside the Group
