Climate change represents a global challenge

The fashion industry contributes to global greenhouse gas emissions. In this context, OTB has set GHG emission reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) and is developing the Group’s Climate Plan to support the management of its emissions throughout the value chain.

Our Climate Initiatives

Climate change is one of the major global environmental challenges. In this context, OTB has set greenhouse gas emission reduction targets validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) in 2023 and is developing the Group’s Climate Plan to support the management of emissions generated by its operations and throughout the value chain.

Our objectives with the Science Based Target Initiative

As we committed to fight climate change, we have responded to the call to action of the Science Based Targets Initiative (SBTi), sending a commitment letter in 2021 to define targets in line with the “1.5°C scenario”. In 2023, our reduction targets have been validated.

Baseline

an increase in annual renewable electric energy sourcing from 0% in 2019 to 80% in its direct emissions (target approved by SBTi)

A reduction of 51% in absolute Scope 1 and 2 GHG emissions by 2030 compared to the 2019 baseline

A reduction of 55% in Scope 3 GHG emission intensity from purchased goods and services and upstream/downstream transportation and distribution per tonne of purchased raw materials by 2030 compared to the 2019 baseline

Status 2025

Electricity from renewable sources in internal operations, global perimeter, exceeding the target approved by SBTi

Reduction in direct emissions (Scope 1 and Scope 2 Market-Based) compared to 2019

Reduction in Scope 1, Scope 2 Market-Based and Scope 3 emissions compared to 2024

Waste, Water Resources and Chemicals

OTB develops initiatives related to waste management—including waste from packaging and textiles—as well as water and chemical management.
